New Paper in Acta Neuropathalogical Communications!

Dr. Shruthi Karnam et al. published in Acta Neuropathologica Communications, uncovering the pivotal role of lipoxin B4 (LXB4) in protecting retinal ganglion cells from neurodegeneration in glaucoma. Through meticulous research employing diverse analytical techniques, we revealed the potent neuroprotective properties of LXB4 in attenuating astrocyte reactivity triggered by inflammatory cytokines and ocular hypertension. This study underscores the significance of the lipoxin pathway across various species and proposes LXB4 as a promising therapeutic avenue for preventing vision loss in glaucoma by targeting astrocyte reactivity.
