The Data Science Discovery Program from UC Berkeley is a comprehensive training program that aims to provide students with practical skills in data analysis, data management, and data visualization. The program is designed to equip students with the tools and techniques needed to work on real-world data-related projects in various fields, including the life sciences. Through this program, students gain hands-on experience working with large datasets, learning how to analyze and interpret complex data, and gaining a deeper understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.

Their project aimed to mine the already published single-cell transcriptomics datasets. They generated new pipelines for analyzing various aspects of microglia regulation, including single-cell pathway analysis, pseudotime trajectory analysis, and prediction of ligand-receptor interactions for understanding signaling mechanisms.
